Policy on photography at Keystone PVA meetings and events

All persons attending any meeting or event sponsored and organized by the Keystone Paralyzed Veterans of America may be photographed for descriptive, informational, or promotional purposes. Photographs used may appear in The Parascope, the Keystone PVA website, or on the Keystone PVA’s exhibition displays (poster boards used to promote the chapter at events), among other places. Keystone PVA assumes that an attendee has given consent, by virtue of his or her attendance, for the chapter to use his or her image for the purposes listed above. Keystone PVA may share these photos with the national Paralyzed Veterans of America for similar purposes. Anyone can refuse to have their image taken at the event by notifying the photographer and a Keystone PVA official. Any person may deny the post-event use of their image by submitting a written denial to the President of Keystone PVA at 1113 Main Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15215-2407, or by faxing it to 412-781-2659.

Policy regarding Keystone PVA reporting on public elected officials

Keystone PVA has been granted nonprofit status by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is classified under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. As a condition of this status, Keystone PVA does not take any action or stance regarding the election of individuals to any public office at any government level. No member, volunteer, or staff member may utilize the resources of Keystone PVA to promote any election. Any mention or image of a publicly elected official in any communication from Keystone PVA is strictly for informational purposes and contextualized within that official’s incumbency. Keystone PVA intends to avoid mentioning or using images of any public elected official within 60 days leading up to an election in which he or she is a candidate. Additionally, Keystone PVA does not endorse the appearance or mention of any elected official who is also a candidate for public office in its communications. The inclusion of any member, volunteer, or staff member of Keystone PVA in any communication related to a candidate for public office does not imply endorsement of that candidate by Keystone Paralyzed Veterans of America. Members, volunteers, and staff of Keystone PVA have been advised to steer clear of situations where their presence or comments could be misinterpreted as endorsements or support from Keystone PVA.
